- IMPORTANT RACE 2 INFORMATION: Following route testing, we have noticed that the Champions Sprint of the Glasgow Crit Circuit has inconsistent segment times when it coincides with the Race Finish Line. To ensure results accuracy, the Champions Sprint on the final lap (lap 5) will not count for FAL or FTS points. All other passes of The Champions Sprint (Lead-In plus laps 1,2,3,4) will count. The Clyde Kicker climb segment remains unaffected and laps 1 to 5 of this segment will count for both�FAL�and�FTS. FIN points at the Race Finish Line as usual.
- Intermittant internet service (as a result of nearby construction) at WTRL HQ has caused delays to RacePasses for Race 1. We anticipate these to be available for Race 1 by 8pm Mountain Time on Monday evening (3am UTC Tuesday 14th November).
- In order to better deal with parallel divisions, please note that we have amended the league name system. League times have not changed - only the names. ZRL Time Grid has been updated to reflect these and can also be viewed on our WTRL Events List

Powerups showing a YELLOW box and number indicate a specific power-up is allocated at that specific arch transition in the race.
EXAMPLE:
12345
equates to Aero at the 1st transitioned arch, feather at the 2nd, steam roller at the 3rd and draft at the 4th arch. This applied to Race 5 of Round 1 in the 2023/24 and means:
- ROOFTOP KOM Arch: Aero
- RAILWAY SPRINT Arch: Feather
- CASTLE KOM Arch: Steamroller
- TEMPLE KOM Arch: Draft (the D's finish here)
- The race transitions through the CASTLE KOM Arch again for the A, B & C divisions where another Steam Roller is issued.

ZRL Group Recon Rides

Led by volunteer Clubs, these rides will unveil race tactics, team strategies, and course secrets, while quenching your ZRL queries. No limits on Pace Groups or Categories, just sync with the pack.
Zoom through with authentic powerups and arches, previewing the course firsthand. Volunteer clubs are crafting an exhilarating array of Recon rides – climb, sprint, or cruise. Competition Rules

ZWIFT RACING LEAGUE DIVISION LIMITS / RIDER CATEGORIES
Zwift Racing League will use standard Pace Group Category boundaries.
A riders pace group category for that race is determined when they cross the start line.
No Category & No Race History
- Riders with no Pace Group Category can not be invirted to join a team.
- They are advised to complete 2 or more 30 minute plus competitive races rpior to being invited.
- This is to ensure each riders category is reflective of their racing ability.
Pace Group Category Enforcement and Power Thresholds
- Riders whose Pace Group Category, zFTP, and/or zMAP surpass the designated threshold for their divisions will not be permitted to sign-up for or join that division/team's race.
- This approach ensures that riders are appropriately matched within their skill level.
Excessive zFTP or zMAP during races:
- Where a rider's zFTP or zMAP exceeds the division's limits during a race, a points-based penalty will be implemented.
- Additionally, these riders would be unable to proceed with their team in future races in that division.
- This measure encourages fairness and maintains a competitive balance.
Pace Group Categories displayed in Team Management:
- These are updated only when:
- A rider is invited to a ZRL team.
- At the point in time that teams are ranked for division allocation.
- When signed up for any WTRL managed race.
- Additionally, these riders would be unable to proceed with their team in future races in that division.
- This measure encourages fairness and maintains a competitive balance.
Progression within Pace Group Categories:
- Riders who successfully complete 50% of a round before upgrading within their Pace Group Category are permitted to continue participating with their team for the remaining duration of the round.
- This extension is subject to the condition that their zFTP and zMAP do not exceed prescribed limits during ZRL races in the latter half of the round.
- This approach is common to cycling and acknowledges the evolving nature of rider performance and pacing.

For Open and Men's leagues, please note that both zFTP and zMAP are subject a zFTP watt floor.

Reporting Suspicious Behavior
The Zwift Racing League has been designed to provide both fun and fair competition as well as to grow the Zwift Racing community in an inclusive manner. WTRL and Zwift do work hard in the background to enforce the rules and ensure that our aims are met.
We would like to remind all competitors and teams that social media is not the place to be raising concerns on the legitimacy of riders, teams or a competition and there are official channels to report any suspicious performances.
The official channels are as follows:
- ZWIFT: Please report using THIS form, ensuring you include all requested information.
- WTRL: Send an email including the Zwift ID or ZwiftPower profile link, event ID numbers, full details and supporting evidence to [email protected]
PLEASE NOTE To maintain the privacy of our members, we won’t be able to update you on the outcome of your report. Please rest assured we will investigate each concern fully.
Scoring

SCRATCH RACES
A straight race for the finish line with Rider Points scored as follows:
- 80 Points
- 79 Points
- 78 Points
- 77 Points
- 76 Points
- 75 Points
- 74 Points
- 73 Points
- 72 Points
- 71 Points
- 70 Points
- 69 Points
....and so on in increments of -1 point. If a scratch race contains more than 80 racers, those in 80th+ place will each receive 1 point.
Each team's score is determined by adding the total number of points scored by all finishing team members.
Where multiple teams have the same total score in a division, each team's fastest finishing rider will determine the teams finishing position in the leaue.
POINTS RACES
ZRL Points Races incorporate multiple scoring opportunities in the form of segment points and overall Finishing Points (FIN).
First-Across-the-Line (FAL) Segment Points
Designated segments (sprints and climbs) on designated laps will offer FAL points for the first 10 racers to cross the segment's finish line. If a scoring rider's result is annulled, their FAL points remain with the rider but are excluded from any individual or team tally - they are not passed to the next rider. Please refer to ZRL Course Schedule for intermediates in play for each event.
Fastest-Through Segment (FTS) Segment Points
Awarded to the top 10 Fastest Times throughout the race at designated Sprints and climbs. This is scored per race (not per lap) on all passes through and scored as 20,15,10,7 to 1 for 1st,2nd,3rd,4th to 10th. If a rider posts the fastest time on lap 1 and the 2nd fastest time on lap 2 - the rider would earn 35 points for 1st and 2nd place.

TEAM TIME TRIALS
Team Time Trials are a true test of how 6 team members can work together to get at least 4 racers across the line in the fastest possible time. Team members will need to work together, take turns at the front and maintain as much draft for trailing team members.
Teams are NOT permitted to draft from other teams and dropped team members should never ride or interfere with other teams on course.
Teams are ranked by the time of the 4th rider. 4 riders MUST finish to score League Points and there are no individual rider points (FAL, FTS or FIN) on offer.
League Points are allocated as per the League Points table below based on team rank. 1st place is 20 points, 2nd is 19 and so on.
LEAGUE POINTS
- For each Points Race the total Individual rider scores will be COMBINED (totaled) by team and ranked.
- Team Time Trials are scored on TEAM finishing position.
- The team with the HIGHEST total COMBINED scores will be declared the winner of the race.
- In the event of a tie in COMBINED scores (only applies to Points Races), teams are then ranked in the following order:
- Finish Points Total
- FAL Points Total
- FTS Points Total
- If a teams total points are still tied, the position of each tied team’s best rider across the finish line shall determine the tied team’s ordering, with the team with the higher placed rider placing higher.
Teams are awarded LEAGUE POINTS for each race in each DIVISION of each LEAGUE as per the descending ranking as follows:

ZRL Community Division final League Standings
- At the end of each ROUND, the team with the most LEAGUE POINTS shall be declared the winner of that round.
- In the event of a tie on Total League Points, teams are then ranked in the same way as detailed above. This order is Total League/Season Points, Total Finish Line Points, Total FAL points, Total FTS points. In the event that this still results in a tie, it would fall to whichever team had the highest placing rider in the final race.
- Where there is more than 1 division per Pace Group Category, at least 1 team will gain promotion to the division above and at least 1 team will be relegated to the division below.
ZRL SEASON FINALE
A team must complete all 6 races in at least 1 round of the season to be elligible to race in the ZRL SEASON FINALE.
Riders must complete at least 3 races, for the team, in any single round of the season to be elligible to race in the ZRL SEASON FINALE.
